When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you submit a rating, we store the company, category, star score, and optional source URL you provide. When you submit evidence flags, we store the flag type, source URL, and explanation you provide.
We do not collect payment information, location data, or any data beyond what is necessary to operate the platform.
Your email and name are used solely to create and manage your account, and to allow you to sign in. Your ratings and submissions are used to calculate and display company scores on the platform. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
We process your data on the basis of contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (to maintain the integrity of the platform). We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law.
All data is stored on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany (EU), operated by Supabase. Data does not leave the European Economic Area. Supabase complies with GDPR and maintains appropriate technical and organisational security measures.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data — including your profile, ratings, and submitted evidence — is permanently deleted within 24 hours. Aggregated, anonymised rating statistics may be retained to preserve platform continuity.
Under GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, the right to correct inaccurate data, the right to delete your data (right to erasure), the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet (the Danish Data Protection Authority) at datatilsynet.dk.
You can exercise your right to deletion directly from your account settings, or by contacting us at privacy@ethicate.dk.
Ethicate uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the platform to function and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking.
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Ethicate after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
